Pat Wagsaffe and I would like to thank all concerned with the excellent
arrangements for the Danube Propeller Event.
We all enjoyed the meetings, presentations and visits and hope that the
contacts made will lead towards progress in developing the recreational use
of
the River Danube.
We are happy on behalf of the Royal Yachting Association aand the British
Marine Industries Federation to do all we can to assist with the Project
Danube Propeller.
Thank you again

Dear friends,
I wish to thank you for the very warm welcome you all gave me in Belgrade last week.
It was a privilege to be invited to enter the community of nations which have already been collaborating over the last 14 years, to promote and develop the Danube, Europe's first transport artery by the number of countries served, and of course a uniquely powerful natural uniting force.
Although my own interest is focused on inland navigation, it was a significant experience for me to see how strongly all the parties present and represented in Belgrade believe in the Danube, as well as its tributaries and canals, as an environmental and economic resource to be shared for the greatest benefit of all the riparian populations.
I feel I now understand physically, and not just on the paper, the value of the Danube Propeller project, and I am honoured to have been asked to give feedback and suggestions on practical initiatives which may contribute to getting physical projects off the ground.
I sincerely hope that cooperation will become more and more intense in future years, and I am sure that waterway tourism, in particular, will have a valuable role to play in forging a new appreciation of all that is to be enjoyed in travelling, much more slowly than in the past, through the Euroregion Middle Danube Iron Gate.
I look forward to meeting you again.
Best regards,
David Edwards-May
